Another round of storms is expected to sail through the Central Coast this week dropping between 3 to 5 inches of rain, according to AccuWeather.
The rain slated to start falling on Thursday is expected to bring between 1 to 12 inches of rain throughout California. Because of a recent change in the weather pattern, several back-to-back storms are expected to drench the state during the end of the week.
The last three years of drought have been the worst in more than 1,200 years, according to a recently published study by the North American Drought Atlas. The researchers used drought reconstructions from blue oak tree-ring cores in southern and central California.
Even though precipitation levels in California have been low over the past three years, the levels haven’t been unprecedented. However, while the state has been getting little rain, it has been experiencing higher than average temperatures.
