Grover Beach police arrested a 36-year-old man Saturday afternoon for assault and attempted murder.
Shortly after 2 p.m., Grover Beach Police arrived at 1001 Pacific Boulevard to investigate a domestic violence report. A woman told officers Nicolas Joseph Lopez had choked and punched her, vandalized the home and a vehicle and then fled the scene.
Officers searching for Lopez found him hiding in some bushes along Highway 1 near the Grover Beach Train Depot.
After Lopez allegedly resisted arrest, officers used a Taser gun on him and then tackled him to the ground.
Officers booked Lopez into the San Luis Obispo County Jail on charges of attempted murder, domestic violence, resisting officers, and vandalism. The victim was treated by paramedics at the scene.
