Paso Robles police boarded an Amtrak train Saturday and arrested a passenger for stabbing another traveler with a fork.

Amtrak operators called the police around 5:30 p.m. Saturday after a fight broke out on a northbound train headed for Paso Robles. During the fight, the aggressor stabbed the victim in the face one time with a fork, according to Paso Robles police.

The victim, a 57-year-old Santa Cruz County resident, managed to subdue the attacker along with the help of other passengers, until the train reached the Paso Robles station. Police officers then boarded the train, and the victim received medical assistance at the scene.

Officers arrested 47-year-old Michael Leon Tapp for assault with a deadly weapon and booked him in San Luis Obispo County Jail. Tapp is a resident of Newberry Springs in San Bernardino County.
