jailPismo Beach police officers arrested a man and woman from San Diego on Tuesday who attempted to use a counterfeit $100 bill to make a purchase at an outlet store.

Officers responded to the Pismo Beach Premium Outlets around 5:30 p.m. Tuesday after a report of the counterfeiting attempt. Shortly after, police located and arrested Erik Richard Erickson, 40, and Corey Anne Browning, 34.

Erickson and Browning used or attempted to use counterfeit $100 and $20 bills at several other locations, according to the Pismo Beach Police.

Officers arrested the two suspects for burglary, possessing and manufacturing counterfeit currency, possession of methamphetamine and criminal conspiracy.

Police seized several hundred dollars in counterfeit currency and booked both suspects in San Luis Obispo County Jail on $20,000 bail.
