Image_7Christina Fernandez Padilla, known as the Central Coast Bandit, is scheduled to appear in San Luis Obispo Superior Court Wednesday.

Padilla, 50, is charged with several counts of robberies for bank robberies she is accused of committing along the Central Coast and in Modesto. She also faces charges of reckless driving while evading an officer and assault with a deadly weapon other than a firearm.

Around 5 p.m. Friday, witnesses reported seeing Padilla in the Golden 1 Credit Union on Foothill Boulevard in San Luis Obispo. Padilla fled in a vehicle and a multi-agency chase ensued that ended when she crashed her car near 35th and Pine streets in Paso Robles.

Officers say Padilla intentionally rammed another car in Paso Robles prior to crashing.

Padilla has been booked in San Luis Obispo County Jail since Friday night on $290,000 bail.

She is believed to have robbed six California banks since December 31, 2012.
