A wave at Leffingwell Landing swept the 7-year-old girl into the ocean around 11:30 a.m. Saturday. The girl’s uncle, along with two bystanders from Fresno, went into the ocean and pulled her out.
Another beachgoer from Fresno, an off-duty paramedic, then performed a life saving technique to removed water from the girl’s lungs. San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s Deputy Chad Nicholson assisted in removing the water from the girl’s lungs.
The 7-year-old girl was unconscious when pulled out of the water. She later received treatment at a local hospital and was reported to be in stable condition.
