Marc Steele

A felon in possession of a firearm has been on the run from San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s deputies since Friday when he rammed his car into a sheriff’s vehicle in Atascadero to avoid arrest.

Sheriff’s deputies and members of the Sheriff’s Narcotics Unit attempted to arrest Marc Steele, 37, for possessing a firearm. But, Steele rammed his silver Lexus four door sedan into a Sheriff’s K-9 vehicle in the 990 block of West Front Road in Atascadero and fled.

Steele, who frequents Northern San Luis Obispo County and the coastal area, now has outstanding warrants for a felon in possession of a firearm and resisting arrest.

The Sheriff’s Office is offering a $1,000 reward for information that leads to Steele’s arrest and is asking anyone who has located him to call 781-4550.

Steele is approximately 5 feet 9 inches and 150 pounds. He is a white man with green eyes and brown hair. Steele is considered to be armed and dangerous.
