Suspects in the stabbing of a Nipomo man led officers on a high-speed chase from Santa Barbara County to Grover Beach Wednesday night.
Shortly after midnight Wednesday morning, the Nipomo man entered the Chumash Casino Resort lobby and said that he had been stabbed several times at another location. He also told deputies that his attacker had stolen his cell phone and wallet.
Emergency personnel transported the victim to a local hospital with serious injuries while law enforcement began searching for the suspects.
Shortly before 6 p.m., officers spotted the two suspects in a stolen car in Santa Maria. A chase ensued with speeds of up to 100 miles per hour. Deputies called off the pursuit because of public safety concerns after the vehicle exited the freeway in Grover Beach.
Santa Barbara deputies, San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s deputies and Grover Beach police apprehended one of the suspects, a woman, and are continuing to look for her male companion.
